Emirates Trip Report flying from Madrid to Dubai onboard one of the Emirates Airbus A380 on a lovely early-summer afternoon over all the Southern Europe and Middle-East. At the end of the video I share with you some footage of the holidays we had in the UAE and Oman onboard the Mein Schiff 6 cruise ship!

An amazing flight with Emirates (as always, so far) from Madrid to Dubai onboard the most comfortable plane in economy class: the Airbus A380-800. This was my first time flying on the Emirates A380 from Madrid and it was as spectacular as I had imagined it.

Emirates uses Terminal 4S at Madrid-Barajas airport. Which is the same that Iberia uses for long-haul flights (together with OneWorld members and other partners). That’s the reason why we saw so many Iberia planes in our planespotting session at Terminal 4S.

After a more or less quick boarding, we started push-back and taxi to runway 14L, from where we took off around 10-15 minutes late. After departure, with some nice views of Torrejón de Ardoz, we flew towards Valencia and Ibiza. From there we set course to Algiers and Tunis. We enjoyed some nice views of Sicilia (including the Etna volcano) before turning right towards Egypt. There we enjoyed some amazing views of Cairo. After that, we crossed the Sinai Peninsula, flying then over Saudi Arabia, already in almost direct course to Dubai, where we landed on time. Very special mention to the views of Dubai during all the approach and landing. One of the most beautiful cities to see during the night.

About the onboard service, on today’s flight enjoyed a quinoa salad together with a main meal to choose between Beef Meatballs with mashed potatoes and vegetables, or chicken tender with risotto and beans. I went for the chicken and I couldn’t choose better. It was extremely tasty. But the top part of this lunch was the dessert! OMG! Again the Chocolate Delice! A mix of white chocolate mousse, some kind of chocolate cake over it and all covered with dark chocolate cream. One of the best desserts I’ve had on a plane. Maybe the best one. I had to ask for a second round… and, of course, the highly efficient and polite crew brought it really fast.

All in all, a great experience with Emirates, once again. But not for the fact that they always provide an amazing service we will stop saying it. It’s very easy to get used to this level and stop valuing it how it deserves. This was a truly 5 starts service on a 5 starts airplane in a 5 stars economy cabin. I hope that clarifies any doubt about today’s flight. 🙂
