To Overland Morocco means to get off the road lesser travelled. Continuing our epic journey north beyond the Dades Gorge we have to cross Morocco’s mighty High Atlas Mountains.

But with little local knowledge and our chosen route an unknown quantity, we had more questions than answers which only fueled Izzy’s anxiety levels… Would we fit?
Was the track passable?
Would it snow?
Would we make it?

  1. The lady was nervous. (I like to see my wife like that when I also take dangerous paths.) The road is excellent, and the truck is short and good. Trust me, this kind of road is sometimes more dangerous for bikers than for people with cars or small trucks.

  2. I mean Im not afraid of heights or anything but I would be way out of my comfort zone on that track! 💩💩

  3. I was impressed with your bravery taking that heavy truck on loose stones, especially at 1:45. I would have been uncomfortable at being the heaviest vehicle to go along that track in some time.
Your videos are reminding me of some of my own hairy driving experiences in Morocco.

  4. The whole point of carrying a house, if at worse you have to parkup for a bit. Truck was made for that road, crack on still well within the capabilities – which makes it very safe.

  5. I’ve seen 2 YouTube vids recently where they turned back on that road, travelling the same direction as you guys. Admittedly both trucks were I think longer wheel base than yours. One of them was very very upset after being led up there by their “tour guide” after repeated comments about fear of heights and drop- offs.
I’ve been waiting to see if you guys could do that track, well done to you both.

  6. Absolutely awesome taking on that track in your truck, just the sort of really courageous spirit I like to see. Well done guys, I would love to do that myself one day. Take care Simon.

  7. Great to see your progress as you travel 👍 Izzy is getting so much better. The world 🌎 is so big and so small at the same time. Very cool that you crossed paths in the middle of nowhere. 🛠👍

  8. Why do you have different tyres on front and rear axle? XZL on rear, can't tell what you have on front though

  9. Absolutely with Izzy on that drive, I too would be clutching the seat. I admire your driving skills and you certainly appeared to have the best vehicle for negotiating that road over the mountain.
I enjoyed your sum up / review of the day. As you say, one to remember. And you have left us with a cliff hanger (pun intended) for your next vlog. 😮
