Check out the other things to do in Osaka here (like wearing KIMONOS!) 👘

Japan is known for its amazing food, and Osaka is the unofficial food capital of Japan.

This was our first time trying Okonomiyaki and it did not dissappoint. We loved that the Okonomiyaki was kept on the hot table so we could talk and enjoy leisurely without worrying about it getting cold. And, although we couldn’t have a beer, I understand why this is a very popular meal to enjoy with friends over a drink.

Takoyaki can be found throughout the world and this one had the best flavor we’ve encountered. Unfortunately, we really missed the opportunity to enjoy the texture. This is a food to be eaten hot and FRESH. We found out the hard way that it doesn’t travel well.

And we’re sure you’ve heard of ramen, but you don’t KNOW ramen until you’ve had it in Japan. We ate Ramen many times this trip but this was our absolute favorite. It tasted like what cream of chicken soup WISHES it tasted like. And that sliced meat is deceptive, it might look like your average slice of ham but it was incredibly flavorful. Someone clearly spent years perfecting this recipe.
