THINGS TO DO WHEN IT RAINS:
1.Eat your way around town, try the signature dish at each restaurant.
2.Limoncello tour: At Valenti Positano
3.Cooking classes: There are many around town including: La Latteria, Il Ritrovo, Buca di Bacco, Chez Max, La Tagliata
4.Get a disposable rain jacket and an umbrella and walk! Catch a bus up to Montepertuso, Nocelle or even just the Chiesa Nuova at the top of Positano and walk back down, explore and admire the views.
5.Visit the Roman Villa. The ticket booth is on the main church steps under the bell tower, and the entrance is on the other side of the bell tower. This villa was buried in the Vesuvius eruption of 79AD, it has been incredibly well preserved, the colours are incredible, you won’t find anything like this in Pompeii.

Thanks for watching the video What to do when it rains in Positano?

  1. Obviously, this suggestion can't be done in the rain… but, you always talk about the number of steps down and the number of steps up. But, since most of us don't climb that many steps on a day to day basis, you should do a video (while answering viewer questions), in real time, while climbing up or down. I know you tell us often that it takes a while…but, I don't think people truly understand unless they make the journey with you…nor, do they understand how difficult the climb really is. Anyway, that's my suggestion. Thank you for my weekly virtual Positano vacation!! Oh, and cooking classes would be wonderful… cooking of any kind is always wonderful.

  2. Hi This is a message for Nicki fans. Just in case you were worried that Positano was going to be washed away. It’s Tuesday – it was beautiful yesterday (except for some rain early evening). Today it has been glorious and because building work on the molo means no ferries it has also not been rammed with visitors. So another great video from Nicki showing real life but hurray sitting here in the sunshine means Positano is back to being magical for visitors who don’t have the struggles of living here full time.

  3. That was a wonderful ‘watch’, it’s good to see the weather change. ANOUT 20 years ago when I was staying on the Amalfi coast during the winter, I returned to England in late February for a couple of week so took my winter clothes back with me. On my return to Italy, it was sooo cold and we woke up on Easter morning to snow. I don’t think people realise that when it does rain it pours and also you don’t to huge supermarket shops like us, so you just get wet. The crumble looks delicious.

  4. Thank you for sharing your life in Positano. I am sure it may be difficult putting it all out there but your true fans love you guys. The new T-shirts are gorgeous, especially the ones with the lemon designs. I will be watching for when I can purchase one. Keep making videos as it inspires me to keep saving for my holiday in Positano.

  5. I would love to watch the cooking classes where we live in Louisville Ky where the Ky Derby is ran we have gone to two cooking classes we love them please show them .

  6. Hi Nicki & Carlo. I meant to complement you on the beauty of the Birds-of-Paradise plants in your garden near the house. They're stunning.

  7. Cooking classes is a nice idea but 150 euros each tho – thats 300 euros for a couple!!!! Ironically we've been having lovely weather in Scotland!

  8. Day to day life (be it raining or sunny) is always good.
Seeing cooking classes would be great. I hope one day I can get to one there myself. But, in the meantime, I'd be happy to watch.
I really like the sweatshirt design with the lemons. Cozy for those rainy days 😊
Warmest hugs to you all ❤

  9. I must know ! How did you guys miss the Giro going through your town !!! I was shocked not to see the content !!! Aaahhhhhhh!!!

  10. Loved seeing the Precipe exhibition. The fish monger was delightful. Thank you both so much. I’d love to see the lemons and fruit trees and what’s blooming each month in Positano gardens.

  11. I like an everyday “what the heck are we going to do today?” kind of video. I always love seeing food bought, made served and eaten either at home or somewhere else. We laughed when Carlo popped his head into the frame from the side. Any interview with a local person about their lives, hobbies, cooking, histories, etc. Appreciate it all.

  12. When I was young I used to get depressed when it rained. (It is a thing).
As an adult I find the rain brings out the green in the leaves & grass. Quite pretty with the colours of flowers.

  13. Congratulations for reaching (very soon) the 200 hundred thousand subscribers!!🎉🎉🧨🧨🧨🧨🎇🎇🎆🎆🎈🎈 Even rainy and foggy Positano looks beautiful.

  14. Actually loved seeing all the local delis and places in Positano. 2017 was my last visit so it's lovely to see all those wonderful places I remember. Looking forward to hearing more about your novel too.

  15. The Giro dItalia bike race has had 4 days of no rain out of 2.5 weeks of racing so u r definitely having a cold wet May.

  16. Rather dashing traffic warden to ease the pain of getting a ticket I imagine. Rain brings different kind of magic.

  18. What a lovely video! I really liked the top you were wearing!!! Yes a cooking class would be interesting to see! Thank you sharing your life with us!

  19. With all the rain and at one point not knowing what to film, you've managed to give us a half an hour video…I appreciate and enjoy it so much thank you Nicki and Carlo😁🥰 👍🏼👍🏼

  20. I love watching anything you choose to film! A cooking class would be fun too! I tune in because now you all feel like my family and my friends! It is kind of like checking in with my brothers and sisters once a week to see what's up! Whatever you film, I will enjoy watching! Thank you for all you do to include us! 😁 Kathy in south Alabama❤

  21. Would love it if you recorded a cooking class. Positano looks magical in the fog and clouds ☁️ Hope the rain let’s up soon 😍😘

  22. For what it's worth, I think you should place the graphics ("positano diaries") a little lower on the chest, on the jumper. It looks odd being so high up.

  23. Nicki, what book are you reading? BTW, let Luca know that he looked very nice at the retirement party so he should not be so shy.
