I take my MX-5 Miata up Mikunisan, which is a route mostly used for leisure driving, offering scenic views of mountains, lakes, and of course, Mount Fuji. As a newer route, it is much easier to drive than older roads. It is popular with drivers and bikers alike for its enjoyability and ease, offering an alternative route from Yamanakako, a popular holiday location back toward Gotemba and to the To-Mei expressway to Tokyo.
