About SAS (from Wikipedia):
Scandinavian Airlines, more commonly known and styled as SAS, is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. SAS is an abbreviation of the company’s full name, Scandinavian Airlines System or legally Scandinavian Airlines System Denmark-Norway-Sweden. Part of the SAS Group and headquartered at the SAS FrΓΆsundavik Office Building in Solna, Sweden, the airline operates 180 aircraft to 90 destinations (as of December 2019). The airline’s main hub is at Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport, with connections to 109 destinations around the world. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (with 106 destinations) is the second largest hub, with Oslo Airport, Gardermoen being the third major hub of SAS. Minor hubs also exist at Bergen Airport, Flesland, GΓΆteborg Landvetter Airport, Stavanger Airport, Sola, and Trondheim Airport, VΓ¦rnes. SAS Cargo is an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines and its main office is at Copenhagen Airport.
About A321LR (from Wikipedia):
In October 2014, Airbus started marketing a 164-seat, 97 t (214,000 lb) MTOW variant with three auxiliary fuel tanks called the A321neoLR (Long Range) with 100 nmi (190 km; 120 mi) more operational range than a Boeing 757-200 configured with 169 seats, 27% lower trip costs and 24% lower per seat costs; it was scheduled for introduction in the second half of 2018, two years after the A321neo.

It was great meeting you at GOT and I noticed that I made a little appearance in your video π Great review and thanks for being so open and candid about how much this nonstop flight means to you! I hope it will be a success for both SAS and GOT and that it will be a daily flight in the future! βοΈππΊπΈ
HOPE YOU HAD A FANTASTIC BIRTHDAY DANπ.
Hey Dan, Iβve been a subscriber for a while on two accounts. If you could do a review from Heathrow to Atlanta on Virgin Atlantic, that would be really cool.
Hey Dan, big fan! I must say though as a New Jerseyan, and I know in Europe they love to do this, but stop referring to Newark as New York! I understand Newark is pretty much the 3rd New York airport, but Newark is its own city. Great video otherwise, my parents are divorced too, and I know it changes the course of your life. Narrowbodies across the Atlantic are here to stay, I guess. My friend is a 757 and 767 First Officer for United(based out of Newark), and he mostly flies international on the 767 and domestic on the 757, but some of his 757 flights are to Europe too.
That cabin is good for short to medium haul flights as SQ does, NOT for long haul
I'm really jealous! PHX is too close to LAX (in airlines' view) and there will never be direct flight to Asia… US airway was the last hope, which vanished.
Did he change the title or am I just forgetful?
This video was so sweet. I loved it
will you ever review economy? like a series? you can only do first and business so many times…
Wow! Itβs heartening to hear you talk about how the newly inaugurated direct flight from Gothenburg to NYC reminds you of your early flying days as a teenager and the emotional impact it has left. I hope the president of SAS has taken note of the praiseworthy aspects of the flight and plane as well as well as the deficiencies. Stay well
Sorry, Dan too much "jump-cutting" again. Couldn't get beyond the 5-minute mark. Slow down for once and allow some air between your speech segments. This is far too fast (non-stop?) for comfort. I'm out … π
Living in HAM I wish something like this will come to my town on a regular basis as well. When Islands or cities like Shannon, Tenerife, Azores or Faroe Islands are connected to NYC, why not Germany's 2nd largest city? Btw, great video as always!β
SS Sucks
SAS did the same thing to the danish city of Aalborg. You can now fly directly fly between Aalborg and Newark with an A321 as well
SAS ππ€π
Love the digital graphic seating chart and most importantly, love your sweater π
Well, sir…I'm now hyped and looking forward to flying out of Gothenburg back to Phoenix in August! My first trip to Sweden to see where my ancestors left in Skane! Flying into Stockholm. Love your videos, keep up the good work! As an aside, I tried to make SAS work for me but ended up on Delta (one of my best friends growing up near LAX was Danish and her dad worked for SAS there!).
Happy belated birthday nonstop Dan! Did you know that in 1980, SAS flew Gothenburg to JFK schedule nonstop on a 747-100/200 /Combi.?
Omg you are so full of yourself
Happy Belated Birthday Dan!ππ always great video.. Oscarβs mom seems so nice! π
This whole video has a weird vibe I know you self funded it and it was an event flight so it was going to have a different vibe but i think youβre refusing to criticize some issues youβre encountering because youβre fawning over the fact that you didnβt think this would happen at all. If this was any other route/ airline with a cabin that was not cleaned (specifically the headphones) and a meal service that took 3 hours you would be upset.
I donβt think blaming the aircraft or the size of the airport is even a valid excuse (nor do I think youβd ever accept that for one second on any other flight like say a middle eastern or Asian airline you would scoff at that π) I think the service was probably slow because it was an inaugural service, which is a VERY common thing tbh, but you REALLY didnβt want to criticize at all. Still love the video Iβm glad you enjoyed it and got to live out a βdreamβ bucket list item but this service has some bugs they need to address including maybe a satellite service center in Gothenburg to clean the planes and probably do catering (having someone drive the food from another city is asking for corners to be cut or it could be an excuse to axe the route all together in todays corporate climate of βcost reductionβ) if the ceo wasnβt there I question the quality of the catering at all frankly judging by what you said itβs normally like. Iβm not trying to be negative I just want to point out what Iβm seeing that you might have missed for your next review so you can compare and contrast the event flight with the actual every day service you can expect.
Happy b-day Dan!β€π
As I dont get why Aalborg got the route instead of Billund when It came to their plan for Denmark.
Billund has the numbers to sustain the route so the decision made in Stockholm doesnt make sense…
sweden the country of real men now a bunch of simpering whimps lol

Nonstop Dan, one day, can you fly the 737MAX on SIA in business class? You might like the throne seats, trust me!
What a classic, layover in Landvetter, grab some food at Max and go to the crew hotel near the terminal. Passengers were always very nice when flying out from there!
As a swede this is good news i am not from gothenburg but this good beacuse in the past if someone would want to travel to New york you have to travel to copenhagen or Stockholm
Great video Dan
Ps i have one question what opinion do you have on Stockholm Arlanda airport?
In which part of Gothenburg did you go to school? 120 students and you as a half American were the most exotic? I remember my old school in northern Gothenburg in the 80βs. The 600 students were from Sweden, Finland, the Balkans, Poland, Greece, Lebanon, Turkey, Chile, Somalia, Iran, China, Eritrea and elsewhere. Well, it wasnβt (and still isnβt) the most affluent neighbourhood of our beloved town, but you certainly wouldβve not stood out as much there, just sayinβ. π
