Mount Aso Is the most active volcano in Japan. It is also classed as a supervolcano consisting of five peaks, Nakedake, Eboshidake and more. The Aso caldera is 25km in diameter, one of the largest in the world behind Toba and Yellowstone.
You can get to Aso in the centre of Kyushu, close to Kumamoto. At present you cannot acces the crater of Nakedake due to current conditions – however check out this vide for a great insight into one of the world’s most amazing sights!
