This tour was filmed on Wednesday 3rd of May 2023. It starts from in the city center and walking towards Aros Museum. The weather was very nice this day of 12 degrees. You can feel spring approaching during this walk. We will end our tour in the city center in front of Aarhus main train station.
Aarhus is the largest city in Jutland, Central Denmark Region. Aarhus Municipality defines the greater Aarhus area as itself and eight adjacent municipalities totalling 952,824 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2021) which is roughly analogous to the municipal and commercial collaboration Business Region Aarhus. The city proper, with an estimated population of 285,273 inhabitants (as of 2022), ranks as the 2nd-largest city in Denmark.
The name originates from the city’s location at the mouth of Aarhus Γ (Aarhus River). It is a compound of the two words Γ‘r, genitive of Γ‘ (“river”, Modern Danish Γ₯), and oss (“mouth”, in Modern Icelandic this word, spelt Γ³s, is still used for “river delta”). In Valdemar’s Census Book the city was called Arus, and in Icelandic it was known as Aros, later written as Aars.
Sit back, relax and enjoy watching this beautiful Danish city.
