Ancient city of Maktar and Kesra | Tunisia

Old Roman ruins and archeological sites plus exploring an old Berber village on the hillsides.
Join me for the adventure as I explore more of the beauty of Tunisia!

We depart Tunis and journey to Makthar and Kesra in Siliana governate in Tunisia. Our first stop is the town of Maktar, an ancient town with a great archeological site that has many ruins from history, from prehistoric to Roman and many more. We toured the site and walk through history looking are the remains of basilicas, Trajan’s Arch and forum, an amphitheater and much, much more.

We then drove to Kesra, and old town that still has a Berber type town on the hillsides. It has a nature spring that provides fresh water and its was great walking through the old village and then hillside taking in the nature and views. We even saw a beekeeper and got a demo of how he removes honey from the honeycomb.

A great trip for all in the group and I loved all of it.
