– Kunisaki, Kyushu to Izumo, Honshu – Japan
– Heading east across the Kunisaki Peninsula until getting onto the Higashi Kyushu Expressway (E10) at Yamamoto, continuing northeast until turning north onto the Kyushu Expressway (E3) at Kitakyushu Junction, joining the Kanmon Expressway (E2A) and crossing the Kanmon Bridge to Shimonoseki and Honshu, taking the Chugoku Expressway (E2A) northeast before turning off the highway near Mine to visit Akiyoshido Cave and the Karst Road (242) through Akiyoshidai Quasi-National Park before returning south to get back on the Chugoku Expressway (E2A) and continuing northeast, turning north onto the Matsue Expressway (E54) at Miyoshi and eventually turning west onto the San-in Expressway (E9) and heading into Izumo, staying in an Airbnb house near the mouth of the Kando River
JAPAN, 2020:
Four weeks on the road in Japan, just before the pandemic struck in March 2020. Driving a little Nissan March (Micra) and staying in ryokans and Airbnbs.
Circling Japan, this 8,000km roadtrip starts in Tokyo and travels across Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu to the far southern island of Yakushima, then all the way north to Aomori, seeing Hokkaido across the sea, and back down to Tokyo.
