Why do we spend so much money to squeeze ourselves in to a tiny airplane seat to visit distance places where we don’t know the language or customs? If we really did the math on whether it’s “worth it”, we’d never go anywhere. We’ve come to the conclusion that travel really isn’t about the destination, or even the journey. Travel is about discovering new ways of looking at the world.

  1. 300k! Awesome! I wish I would have found you before we went to Singapore in December! I subscribed for your fantastic Vancouver series and we spent the kids’ Spring Break at all the great places you suggested. You and your wife are doing your daughter so much good prioritizing travel. We did for our twins as well and at age 16, they are confident, empathetic problem-solvers who have a perspective on life that most of their peers do not. Or maybe it’s all the Phil’s BBQ we used to have catered for their birthday parties when they were little. πŸ˜„ Seriously, you and your wife are to be commended. I look forward to seeing where you go next!

  2. Hi Chris. Congrats on 300K subs. Great live stream. The reason I travel is what you say on the channel is to be like an explorer. Especially when I visit Japan. I like to take the beaten path and get myself into the culture and experiences of the local people. The attractions are great, but for me to interact with the locals is what helps me understand what it's like to live in that country. And in return, the get to experience of interacting with a foreigner. That to me makes the trip really memorable and enjoyable.Welcome Yusaku. For you to get an editor is a great sign. It shows that people love your content and want more. Keep up the good work. Let's get up to 400k and beyond. Take care.

  3. Congratulations on another amazing milestone, Chris! Onward and upward! Keep up the outstanding work. Especially the live streams. They always leave me thinking the same thing at the end: β€œhow did an hour go by so fast?”

  4. Some people think it’s their god given right to fly around polluting the planet πŸ˜‚ and then complain about it πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

  5. Congrats on the 300K achievement! I have always enjoyed your videos and have found them very informative and helpful too.

  6. Congrats on 300k, Mr. Rainey! When you first started doing YouTube and was buying the equipment to film the videos, did you ever think to yourself, β€œWill this all be worth it? Will this really expensive pay for itself?” I heard YouTube filming equipment costs over $1,000. I appreciate all of your hard work, energy, effort, and money spent on your videos.

  7. Congrats! πŸŽ‰ You've been both helpful and entertaining. Going to France this fall but you've got me also wanting to go to Singapore

  8. Really bummed to miss this one πŸ™

However, congratulations on the 300K and here's to 300K more!!!!

  9. I think we travel cause it's good for the soul. It's not always fun and games. Delays and cancellations and unexpected sickness and long lines happen but at the end of the day the mix of good and bad with traveling creates contrast and balance. Makes you wiser and builds character provides you with alot of interesting future storytelling. It gets you out of your comfort zone and makes you less naive about the World!

  10. You can get good Laksa in the Philippines. In the mid 70s during the inflationary crises, and beef prices skyrocketed, horse meat was readily available, I really like it, it is very lean. Wish I could get it again!
