Join me on a photo shoot to Miho-no-Matsubara (三保松原), a breathtaking destination nestled on the Miho Peninsula (三保半島) in Shizuoka Prefecture (静岡県), Japan.
Our adventure begins at the captivating Miho-no-Matsubara Beach (三保松原海岸又は清水海岸), where we’ll soak in the scenic beauty along the shores of Suruga Bay (駿河湾).
As we venture north along the coastline, we can witness the juxtaposition of colossal container ships and massive tetrapods set against the backdrop of the majestic Mt. Fuji, standing proudly in the distance.
Our next stop is the iconic Miho Lighthouse (三保灯台又は清水灯台), an architectural gem as Japan’s first lighthouse constructed with reinforced concrete. Afterward, we’ll retrace our steps and head south along the foot trails, treating ourselves to more stunning vistas of Mt. Fuji.
Upon reaching the enchanting Miho-no-Matsubara pine grove, we’ll make a brief visit to Hagurama Shrine (羽車神社), immersing ourselves in its tranquil ambiance. Then, we’ll continue our journey to the park’s crowning jewel—the Hagoromo-no-Matsu (羽衣の松) pine tree. Estimated to be around 200 years old, this ancient tree holds a significant place in the captivating Legend of Hagoromo.
