“Disney Drop-In” is an award-winning Disney Vacation Club series of unscripted videos filmed in interesting Disney places with equally interesting Disney people. In this episode, Disney Files Magazine Editor Ryan March drops into Anaheim, Calif., to check in on the construction of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, the new Disney Vacation Club Resort is scheduled to open on Sept. 28, 2023.

Follow Ryan as he embarks on a hard hat tour of the construction site, peeks inside a prototype model room at a secret offsite warehouse and meets a few of the Disney Imagineers working tirelessly to bring the new resort tower to life. When completed, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will welcome Members and guests to a diverse array of accommodations (designed to sleep as few as two or as many as 12) layered with thoughtful details celebrating the art and artists of Disney Animation. Promising “a story in every stay,” the new resort is designed to serve as a blank canvas for years of dream vacations, all just a brushstroke away from the magic of Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District.

  1. I'd like to see less dvc towers and more fully themed hotels where the space is available

  2. Sorry, it's a HUGE no from me this time around. With the high purchase cost, additional nightly transient occupancy tax (not a minor cost), no free parking, and resale use restrictions, this one doesn't work for me. I'll stick with my 2 already purchased direct contracts at other DVC resorts.

  3. Yes, it’s a very beautiful and stylish thoughtful room. I wish some of the other fees would be included, including parking.

  4. This was a great first look/behind the scenes video. Thank you! Loved the artistic style choices in them. Seems better designed than some of the recent WDW renovated hotels, may the DVC members enjoy them when it opens!

  5. I can't wait to see a Jungle Book room! I like most of what I saw in the video. But I wish they wouldn't use vessel sinks in the bathrooms. They are awkward to use.

  6. FYI not all DVC studios have a kitchenette. Only Deluxe DVC studios do. DVC resort Studios do not have a kitchenette.

  7. Oh this looks lovely.

I hope that they build a second tower. Because the current number rooms is 395 rooms and the Bay Lake Tower at Walt Disney World has 428 rooms, Including Fourteen Grand Villas. Where this new edition only has Two Grand Villas. A brand new version of Steakhouse 55 can be placed there as well.

Also, there can be Waterfront Bungalows. Basically like the ones at the Polynesian Resort that can float on a man-made Lagoon, where a DVC addition to the Paradise Pier Hotel can also be placed in.

  8. This is going to make Sam’s and the Terrace soooooo much more packed. 😭
Also shocked they didn’t go with an exterior theme that visually matches the existing blue toned towers.

  9. how booring.. nothing stands out that u don't get for better pricing on harbor blvd…
