Join us on our long 27hr travel day from Orlando Florida to Tokyo Japan in American Airlines Flagship business class.
We start the day at 5am in Orlando and fly to Dallas (DFW) in American First after experiencing the lounge at Orlando International airport. Then we take the long 13 hr flight from Dallas to Narita Japan in Americans premier Flagship Business class. As you can tell from the title “Flagship” was far from the service received on board.
Once in Japan we register our JR Rail Pass and caught the Narita Express to Tokyo. At the end of a very long and disappointing day we checked in at the Hilton in Shinjuku to start our Japanese adventures

  1. Your not moaning ..at that price I would be fuming ..appalling service..disgraceful at any level of flight ..and that’s why I fly Emirates to Oz..fabulous service..on every tier of flight in my experience 😊

  2. When flying internationally from or to the U.S. I try to fly business class on a foreign carrier. Except for one very good recent flight with AA from DFW to LHR, I've found Air France, Cathay Pacific, and especially Qatar, to be better choices. BA's first is comparable to AF business & CX business but inferior to QR.

  3. Glad to see you have made a formal complaint….i coukdnt believe it absolutely disgraceful, cant wait to see the vlogs xx

  4. Sorry for your horrible experience! When flying overseas, ALWAYS fly foreign carrier! All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, or Singapore Airlines is the best and worth every penny. “We’re here for your safety” means don’t expect anything other than getting you there from point A to B and maybe on time. American carrier attendants are the WORST! They have no concept of customer service or common courtesy.

  5. We just traveled home from Orlando to LA then LA to Australia with 2 kids. Longest day in history. We traveled with Qantas from LA and we definitely got better service in economy than what you got in business. I would have been so upset if I paid $10,000 for that trip. What a disgrace! Hope you had/have an amazing time in Japan

  6. Hey guys love watching your videos 🙂 im bringing my family over end of june i was just wondering iv you knew any good taxi service that is good to use for airport pickup from mlb to international drive x

  7. It's American..Id be shocked if it was a great experience. That's why they rank dead last amongst the American based airlines

  8. Wow!!!! Very very disappointing Barry. I am with you both……..Blooming RUBBISH 😮 And the prices they are generally charging………NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO😢😢😢😢😢😢 DISGUSTING 😮

  9. You’re 100% Correct! Inexcusable!! American carriers and their Flight Attendants are the worst! Again, when paying $10k for a ticket, I don’t want to hear, “We’re only here for your safety”. Nice vlog. Thank you.❤

  10. I always stick to JAL ANA when heading to Tokyo. The risk of a bad crew on all American based airline is too high for a long haul.

  11. United Airlines was delayed for my trip from Dallas to Vietnam (Economy). They rebooked me on American Airlines Business class for free! After experiencing this, I definitely don’t think it’s worth it if I have to pay $$$$!!!

  12. As a AA employee I do have to say our flight Attendants are more into their layover rather than the service they provide to their passengers. Its embarrassing but think they just dont care.

  13. What a shame regards both of your flying experience this trip 😢Lady Maxine your wee hubby was hoping for you to have the best travel day ! on route to your even better and memorable days ahead !! Wonderful things to come guys 👍🤗♥️

  14. We had an internal flight with American Airlines last year. Travelling with family members with peanut allergies. They were not interested at all. So unhelpful and refused to make an announcement to make fellow passengers aware. Crew were also rude. First time I have boarded a flight and not been welcomed aboard or at least acknowledged. Our BA flight home was a breath of fresh air.

  15. That’s such an unfortunate experience… I don’t think it’s moaning… just not GREAT value for money. Your experience has been more like economy than business! I’ve been on better budget airlines 😱

  16. When you said the airline didn’t send you a notification that your gate was changed, I knew you were in for a rough flying experience. Would definitely had a great flight with any major Asian airlines like ANA, JAL, or Singapore airlines just to name 3, they will greet you by name and give you a welcome drink. That 787 had very ackward seating. Very poor service esp being in business class. American is one of the worst airlines in the US.

  17. If a government had an airline, it would be American Airlines. Aeroflot of the US. I travel fairly often and avoid them at all cost. I would never fly international with them. I hope AA executives see the safety issues you presented.

  18. Service or quality has not improved since I flew with them last in business in 2003. Thanks that I stopped flying with them

  19. Thanks for making this very watchable blog despite poor service from American. You also reminded me of the rather weird business class convention that passengers are all single! Why is there no seating option for pairs in this class?

  20. Personally I would never pay to fly American and only flown them from the UK and Spain on business trips. Yes the crew make it or break it. I would certainly recommend the Japanese carriers next time you travel to Japan. There is such a difference with their one world partner, JAL, for example.

  21. I assure you that if you had forcefully complained about the service American would make sure the police would be at the gate to deal with the " problem passengers", US carriers are the worst in the world when it comes to service.

  22. Do not fly American airlines when traveling international..try asian airlines..Singapore airlines is the best in business class..hands down

  23. Great video. I hope you made a complaint to American Airways and maybe ask for some compensation? If you have, keep us updated and I hope you told them you've made a YouTube video about your experiences.

  24. My goodness. I’m a United guy and have recently been pleasantly surprised as I’ve seen hot towel service in First, even on 3 hour flights – been quite nice.
I know AA does have some good people working for them, but still I am typically not surprised at anything I hear about their service lately, though in my experience it’s been that way for quite a while. The last flight I took with them the FA had a nice casual humorous personality , more nonchalant about actual service. Whereas on United, I’ve seen the crew dressed to the 9s, more formal, and very good. Anyways- Glad the Japan trip is going well!

  25. As a former flight attendant with the major European airline I cannot understand why those FAs didn't walk around with a tray offering water or any juice. We always did it, especially during very long night flights, and to be honest, for selfish reasons: just to stay awake! 😅

  26. AA’s service is usually terrible, no news there. It’s sad that Americans settle for this, if everyone just chooses another airline, things would get better

  27. That is what you expect from almost All of US carriers (Delta, United, American…). Don’t expect them like Singapore, Qatar, Cathy, Korean…
If you flight inside in US first class. You won’t be allow in lounge.
But only I don’t like is you said “the Economic’s people”. People work hard to get ticket to travel. They are not lucky like you guys can afforded the Business or First class ticket.

  28. This is why I'd never pay for Business Class. I've had better service in Economy Class. Those seats are no use at all if you're travelling with a companion (unless you don't like them of course).

  29. I’m amazed you just didn’t just hit the service button at your seat. I can’t stand flights where they are a continuous presence when everyone is trying to sleep so much prefer ringing for service when I need it.

  30. Crap flight over bazza, now time to enjoy japan, look forward to the vlogs. Maxine, 4 breakfasts, my kinda girl 😂

  31. When the FAs didn't come by to offer drinks, isn't there a call button you can push near your seat to summon someone? Have they done away with the call buttons? I haven't flown in a number of years so I may not be aware of the latest.

  32. When I went to Orlando on way back the AA cabin crew were god awful. They were not happy as the ground crews had messed up the seating and families were spread all over the plane. The passengers sorted it out so all in ‘wrong place’. I have pre ordered gluten free and by breakfast was told ‘I’ve got a normal muffin in my hand you can have it or lump it’. They were grumpy all the way.

  33. Very similar to Amtrak.

Trips on them across the US can be either BLISSFUL or HELLACIOUS, all down to the crew. There are some dreadful ones: some STELLAR ones. If one could only book your trip (railroad or airline) based on selecting a crew you knew to be INTO providing a great experience. Many trains/flights would be completely empty: and some vastly oversubscribed.

Such a shame, as you say, those guys have a pretty good job and lifestyle: that they provide such mediocre product is so disheartening.

  34. It’s American Airlines. Seems they have no idea what service is. I would be complaining and expecting complimentary tickets for another business class flight.

  35. On your next flight you might ask the flight attendant to show you the FA call button. It's remarkably effective if you want service.

  36. On a 10 hour flight from Tokyo to Vancouver on Air Canada Business Class they pretty much left us all alone for 6 1/2 hours. It certainly didn't feel like Business Class. At least there were no items on the aisle floors.

  37. Avoid any America’s airlines like a plague, unless you have no choice domestically. Absolutely unacceptable.
