Ikebukuro is also vibrant but less packed than Shibuya, so perhaps more enjoable for walking both by day or by night. There are so many observatories in Tokyo so that the visitors have a great choice where to go. This one has a nice parklike chilling space to enjoy maybe a craft beer as you did. I am glad you have found the pleasing place to eat an affordable but yummy meal. The dessert especially caught my attention. As for Harry Potter I am not that much in it but it is interesting to see how the movie scenery has been recreated down there. It is OK for your livestreams to follow various time zones I only hope to be notified a certain time ahead which is never the case with the time of your video releases. Thanks for the new video really enjoyed the Harry Potter train colab. Thanks for the advice regarding the fancy restaurants. Even if I was there as a tourist, I wouldn't spend that much for dinner ๐๐ธ The apple waffle looked so good. If there was vanilla ice-cream on it, that would be perfect. Looking forward to the changes so everyone can have a chance to enjoy your content/ see the livesteams! PS, if you ever visit NYC, there is a huge Harry Potter store, and it looks pretty amazing. Thanks Rionโค for the vlog. Coincidentally, I just learnt that Sunshine 60 site used to be sugamo prison during WW2 until 1962. This building itself is a fav paranormal place for thrill seekers๐ .There should be a stone to commemorate the prison which is engraved, in Japanese, "Pray for Eternal Peace." Maybe u can try finding it next time?

Visited Ikebukuro just last month (Apr 2023)! Went to Kawagoe (you did a vid of that too, right) in the morning and hung out at Ikebukuro in the afternoon. Was at some of the spots you were walking around, but didn't go up the observatory. It was a weekday then too but it was quite busy with lots of ppl in the .
Went to Sunshine City Mall's Gatchapon mall! Crazy awesome with walls and pillars of Gatchapon machines! It was wild! And of course the Pokemon Center. Actually, I think I prefer checking things out at Ikebukuro than Akihabara coz less ppl and we found an awesome store that had lots of Gunpla!
And yes, agree with you – if you want to eat at fancy restaurant, do that for lunch – it's half the price!
Different times for livestreams? Sure, just make sure you send notifications out early. In fact doing different timezone livestreams you can show Japan at different times eg. Morning, Afternoon and Night times and the different things ppl can do during those times! ใใฌใผใทใขใใ

i like conan too but the question is why japan anime/manga creator like to make their main character back again become a child, i don't understand this trend in japan, is it meant for a children viewers?, but conan story mostly for adult about crime, murderer, etc, not suitable for children viewers/readers, for example dragon ball gt also the same like this too, maybe you know rion why they make their main character back again becoming a child?

10:49, Hey Rion, that restaurant "Joe's Shanghai" is probably the same business as the one in New York's Chinatown. They make these gigantic soup dumplings (xiao long bao) either crab, pork, or both together. If that's them, you absolutely gotta try them out!

rion, do you know if tokyo coin lockers will be blocked off may 18-21? for the g7 summit. i saw kyoto lockers will be blocked, but haven't heard yet about tokyo's lockers.
Will have to check out the observatory when I get back to Japan in September afte rnot visiting since 2019, but it's too bad that it seems that they still won't let you go up on the roof and see the view outside.

That's a pretty smart idea. Sadly, I think the theme-park-ization wouldn't fly in western countries. There's this idea that transit has to be serious. I love that Japan takes cuteness and theming as worth doing. The only thing that America does in reference to themes are cafรฉs and sports stadiums… but imagine if Nintendo sponsored a transit station… contributing money for theming rights.
I think the Harry potter themed station is tastefully done, and yet still functional.
