A special thank you to Leica Japan and InterContinental Osaka for collaborating with me on this. No money was exchanged and they don’t have any preview or say in my content but InterContinental provides my lodging and Leica lets me borrow their equipment.

  1. I did the same thing in Kyoto – Ginza on a weekend – Kimono Party time. I took pictures of people taking pictures of their friends with their iPhones — that was fun.

  2. Another good video. Your street advice is 100%: camera on, lens cap off, settings set. The moment is just that. It is not a novel, hardly a page. We do have to be ready. Enjoy some sushi for me. ;o) And thanks.

  3. Loved the Vlog.
    Over exposure. Flaring.
But. That added to the charm.
    As for the hotel.
You need a model as you ain't one lol.
    Was a story told?
    Your a master.

  4. Fabulous content again, and gorgeous images. I'd like to make some comments about the SL2S.
My background is hobby photographer, looking for a perfect fit camera for 10+ years. Went through Lumix/olympus/fuji and eventually Leica. I have had an M9, M240P, Q, Q2 , Q2M, SL , M10P, and recently SL2S, as well as trying film with Voigtlander R4a and M7. I am 57 yo, and have bought and sold cameras over the years. I have spectacles, and like wide angle.
Whilst I love the smallness and the history of the M system, ultimately I have been disillusioned by missing critical focus on fast lenses, and the EVF on the Ms are not that great. The SL2S has been an epiphany for me. I can see out to 12mm lenses, and 90mm if I want, through the fabulous EVF, and focus accordingly.
It urges me to shoot manual, with ISO, Shutter speed and Aperature easily accessable at thumb and finger location. The EVF is unbelievable, and being able to check focus with magification makes missing shots a thing of the past. Its challenging me to grow as a photographer, be less lazy.
I have an SL35mm lens, and it is just too big, as you alluded to, and I will move it along. I use M lenses, the Voigtlander 28mmf2 is gold on the SL2S, tiny, and the package whilst bigger than the M, feels fabulous in the hand. Low light is amazing, and I am OK with 24meg images.
Maybe this will help similar people looking for a solution. I am happy now, the only thing I would love is an SL2S Mono, but that will not happen. Keep up the fabulous content, hope to get to a photo meeting at some stage, trying for DEC. Peace.

  5. Interesting video.
Do they only sell new Leica equipment or also used or 3 party (voigrlaender) in the Leica store?
