What’s going on guys and welcome back to the channel! Last week I finished my first year of college… and while that was cool, it meant it was time to come home for the summer. Being in Utah and living in California, that put a 10 hour drive ahead of me which I just grinded out. But on the way, I passed a very familiar destination that tends to be a bit of a sore thumb in the community, and that was the half-abandoned Desperado. Now, I’ve already done a video on Desperado and its history featuring Airtime Thrills, and no shade to that thing, but this got me thinking about its sibling across the world in the UK, and I wanted to do a video on it. With a height and drop of over 200 feet and a length of over 5,400 feet, today’s coaster has a ride experience lasting a total of 3 minutes with one of the coolest history’s to date. It’s also been slowly getting replaced and made better in its own tracks. So what is it? And where did it come from? This is the story, of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s, Big One! šŸ’„ šŸŽ¢

  1. As a local I really hope they demolish it soon and build a new hypercoaster. The Big One is a pretty boring ride imo. Granted I've been on it way too much but with recent technology it could be replaced with something so much better!

  2. 1994 was the year for rollercoasters in the uk. Big one Nemesis and shockwave all opened in one year!

  3. As a UK enthusiast, I have ridden this ride multiple times and the first drop is phenomenal, easily the best this country has to offer (on the back row). The rest of it is ok but nothing special, good views, height and speed, not very intense apart from the drop, glad you made this video ā¤ā¤

  4. Been on the big one more times than I can count! It's such a fun coaster!! Only problem is due to it's location it's often closed when the wind gets too high =(
I like those banked airtime hills. They make things a little different from the standard layouts.

  5. lift hill hasn't been replaced, also the sections that have been retracked, specially the last bit under dipper and over the old entrance are abysmal, they have changed the profile and its worse than ever with some very uncomfortable kinks that shouldn't be there… and yeah air time there is definitely not other than on the drop at the back

  6. You missed a interesting part. The Big one was disigned by Arrow but not build. It was build by the same company that is now retracking it. Not 100% sure ot that but The big one is a UK build coaster.

  7. The lift hill hasn't been retracked. The dip into the brakes, the two dips before that and the section through the final tunnel were all retracked over 4 off-seasons.

  8. This is the first of your videos I’ve ever downvoted dude. So much is either missing or straight up incorrect. I know you don’t live here but it’s not a new coaster… the main thing for me is the clickbait thumbnail! Do we really need clickbait still? It’s one of the worst thing about YouTube atm (other than the comment scams)
Sorry dude, yeah this one was a miss for me šŸ’šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

  9. Yes! Thanks for making this video. The new track sections on the Big One are so much smoother than the parts that haven't been replaced. Unfortunately I've not any good rides on this coaster yet, I've found it a bit boring and not having much airtime, but that could just have been the day I visited. Great video šŸ‘šŸ‘

  10. I wouldn't really call it "rare". It's famous in the UK, and lots of enthusiasts know about. It's not like one of those cool looking coasters in china

  11. The drop is really fun, the rest of it is really boring. no airtime and its pretty rough

  12. The Big One is a one drop wonder. It has some amazing views on the top of the lift hill and a great and intense first drop but the rest of the ride feels slow and sluggish with no forces and just rattles you about in places and hits hard on the mid course break run which then at feels like snails makes its way to the final break run. It's 74mph but my god it feels like it loses it's speed right after the first drop. Rest of the ride feels 50mph at best with again no forces.
