After a couple of weeks of well-deserved downtime in Denver, we’re flying 12 hours across the Pacific—for free—to add a slew of new Asian adventures to our video journal in a new country for us: Japan. We’re starting things off with one night in Tokyo, where we’re relying exclusively on robots to facilitate the entire stay. Transportation? Planned by ChatGPT. Dinner? Recommended by ChatGPT. And then, an overnight in the Guinness Book of World Records’ first certified robot hotel. Will this experience have us singing Doom Arigato Mr Roboto—or leave us thinking, “Chat WTF?”

ABOUT US
We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience—up close and in person—all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.

The lockwoods are back!!! Editing this comment cause I forgot it’s supposed to be a secret lol… excited to see your family travel through Japan. It has been on my bucket list for a few years now. Hope I can go one of these years…
Looking forward to all your Japan videos 😊
Welcome to Japan Lockwoods! 🎉 You’re our travel superhero! Denver to Tokyo looked like a piece of cake, and waking up super early to catch the train? How do you guys do it?! And yes, Japan taxis are way too expensive but well worth it though, especially after a long flight. By the way, we're totally digging the "RoboErin" thumbnail! ❤️
Haha, those foot massagers definitely made up for the cramped "divorced" family room.
Total food envy when you guys were slurping down them ramen noodles. Yummy 😋 Can’t wait for the next episode ❤️
I could eat that RAMEN all day every day! But would pass on that Robot hotel….I want my humans, imperfect as they are, hehe.
Missed you Lockwoods! Keep it coming
I have seen the Henn Ha hotel before…a little creepy but fun looking. Japan seems like a very automated city and you’re right you can never be 100% prepared for any situations when traveling!
I love a great bowl of ramen!
Can’t wait to visit Japan for myself. I have heard the 7 Eleven’s there have great food as opposed to the ones here in the US. ❤
22 Thousands more to go and Your Silver Button Coming up Faster than you Think , Thanks For Sharing Your Japan Adventures 🙏👌✌️🙌👍👍👍
Wow a robot hotel , really 21st century. It’s really hard to go to a country without English translation but the pictures help a lot. The “family room “ size of the hotel is like tiny apartments in NY . Excited to see more of Japan 😊
You guys missing 🎉🎉
Way to change it up Lockwood fam…. nothing like a robot steamed foot massage and a bidet to get the day started haha…. right?
Wow have fun Takecare and Godbless u all❤❤❤
husband speaking age 80, 9 am now in Everett, Wash. wife is heading for Cebu – don't even have time
to start – be back in a couple hours = anxious, I am. lol
Dang, so scared that they have robots! Japan is so innovated but not have humans means no work for us. How do people live??
I know everything is condensed there. Anyways, I love your channel you are a joy to watch!💯❤️🥰😘. Your kids are so respectful . Your Family always makes my day a true inspiration. Much LOVE and RESPECT 🙏🏼!
# 2 I'm back, 2:20 pm in Everett – mom just texted that she is sitting in the plane, next stop Inchon, Korea – 11 1/2 hours.
a 3 hour delay, then 4 1/2 hours to Mactan and once out of the airport, 20 min. home. The Raman soup looked super
nice even to me, not to spicy though, one of my favorite dinners in Cebu. Have a fun safe trip.
🙏🏼
What is that brand of eye sleeping mask?
The noodles looks delicious 🤤 😋 looking forward for the next vlog 😀
wooowww.. like the robot staff hahaha…
Guys no skipping of ads please…
come to turkeyy
Minor correction. Haneda Airport handles more passengers per year than Narita Airport ( about 60 million vs. 40 million). The reason for the difference is because Haneda handles the vast majority of domestic routing to and from Tokyo. Conversely, Narita is definitely higher in foreign flight destinations. Haneda was the original airport for Tokyo, and handled both international and domestic flights. Narita was constructed to accommodate the increase in international flights which would have overwhelmed Haneda. Haneda was able to renew foreign destinations (there were a few to close-in Asian destinations that was allowed to continue at Haneda when Narita opened) when the 4th active runway was constructed, while Narita only has 2 active runways.
We miss you in the Philippines but your Japan videos will be sure fun! 🙂
How are chatgpt recommendations vs a usual google search?
When do you upload your next videos in Kyoto? I cannot wait anymore! Me and my girlfriend are watching you every night before we sleep! We are a big fan so you better upload videos soon! ASAP!
watching the vlog at 0130am philippine time. and im now xraving for rameeeeen
How do u earn so many miles?
ooh I hope yall try a local kissaten for japanese coffee culture
I'm sure the way you had your ramen with lots of sauces on top would make local feels strange.
The average size of a hotel room in Japan is very small even compared to western countries especially in Tokyo as the rent is pretty expensive. It's not like in Philippines or Thailand where you stay in resort to enjoy beaches. You may spend more time with the nature, food and history to experience their cultures. Suggest you to book an Onsen hotel with full board service.
