Japan is known for its almost flawless trains/bullet trains to explore the country or Honshu, the main island of Japan. If you are on a budget and have plenty of time to visit places, taking the busses is a good choice. Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal also known as “Basuta” in Japanese was in full operation in April 2016. It’s accessible from Shinjuku Station South Gate, on the 4th floor. You will find ticket vending machines, ticket counters with staff who are English speakers. There are coin lockers, ATMs, nursing rooms, a lounge. The busses are always on time for departures but maybe a bit late for arrivals depending on the traffic situations of your destination. Next to it is the Tourist Information Center Tokyo where you can get more information you need.
