Kumano Wagyu Striploin from Wakayama Prefecture. Kumano Wagyu is a a rare program, with only about 200 heads of Wagyu offered per year. To be graded Kumano Wagyu, the animals must be raised in Wakayama Prefecture for at least 14 months, and a total of at least 26 months.

While it is possible to enjoy these unique brands from Japan in very few restaurants around the worlds, it’s definitely a remarkable experience to visit Japan and experience that from their origins.

Now that Japan has recently reopened to visitors, it’s the perfect time to plan a culinary adventure in the country. The best seasons to visit Japan are in the Spring and Autumn. The colors are beautiful across the whole country, and great outdoor temperatures to walk around and try different restaurants.
