I know how much you loved my video on places to eat in Sendai, so I am back with another, showing three more of my favorite restaurants! Sendai is known for its beef tongue but this time we’ll be diving into some of Sendai’s succulent steak, visiting a special childhood memory and one of Sendai’s most popular izakayas!
You can check out all the links for the restaurants I visited here:

It like to see places a family on holiday can go to eat.
If they say ‘Ryotoro’ they get a plate of risotto…
I've just checked out this video because I've just seen the journey in Japan's recent trailer and wanted to check Ryotaro was ok! 😂
Ryotaro is always an expert when it comes to food! All your videos that encompassed food, looked delicious! I will definitely going to those places you recommend. Danke.
I'm disappointed. Last time you were running a lot from and to places… I was looking forward to more of that
After Ryotaro's Japan, there must be a Ryotaro's world and after that a Ryotaro's universe.
Why do I always watch these videos when I'm hungry 😅
I'm surprised you didn't know what 山椒 is generarlly called Sichuan pepper (四川胡椒)
but on dictionally you'll find "Japanese pepper" which no one understands.
Anyone familiar with Asian cuisine will recognize Sichuan pepper.
Please recommend OYSTERS/SCALLOPS restaurant/shacks in Sendai and of course
金華山沖鮮魚類 for seafood lovers. You must not forget that Japan is a paradise for
seafood lovers.
7:28 Question: why aren't spoons provided in most Japanese restaurants (exception: ramen)? Unagi is my must have hot dish whenever visiting Japan, but it's so difficult to scoop up all the rice without a spoon, especially when served in a box.
Awesome video, thanks for the recommendations, we will be going to Sendai in July. I see you have a samurai Aloha shirt. Mahalo and Aloha.
man, I love unagi a lot. Wish it was more popular in the US
Seems like a good food reviewer but Ryotaro is great when he’s making fun of people (mostly chris) and vice versa in any location or situation
I was wondering about the udon place. Sad to hear it's gone.
I'm loving the hoodie 🙏🤙🤙🤙
That thumbnail makes u look like a grandfather 👴 🤣 😂
I love that a certain fatso has to sit there and record you eating food.
cool Toei opening !
I hope these places remember Ryotaro in September – definitely putting these on the list for my visit to the city
I have no doubt that unagi is delicious, but it is also an Endangered species, so you absolutely shouldn't eat it!!! (as is the American eel. European eels being critically endangered) …and no, farmed eels isn't fine. No one has yet found a way to get eels to breed in captivity, so all farmed eels are wild eels. Caught from the wild.
Ryotaro, also do you have any recommendations on cocktail bars in Sendai if you do I greatly appreciate it. I bartend at Kahala hotel in Hawaii and would love to see and learn in Sendai. Mahalo and Aloha.
Ditch the music – contributes nothing but annoyance
Everything looked delicious!
Thanks for taking us, Ryotaro!
I’ll visit your restaurant this year finally. I’m so excited to see my friends in Sendai, and who knows, we may cross paths on a shinkansen haha, would be amazing. 😊⭐️
How much was the unagi? I am coming to Sendai in June so I am quite interested!
Yay! A new Ryotaro video. Ryotaro knows everyone in Sendai, it seems like! I hope to try beef like this someday.
Ahaha! Ryotaro is taking care of his viewers and creating connections for us! I'll be sure to use your keyword if I go to these places. Also, the English subtitles are really funny. 11:42 "Can I eat? "No, we're just going to look at it."
Basically it's a sponsorship video with Ryoutaro as the coupon code
Good timing. Just visiting sendai today but I'm so anxious even though I know intermediate Japanese I've just been sticking to chains. 😭
I visited Sendai way way back in 2008 for exactly a day. Arrived by Shinkansen from Osaka ( where I was staying during my trip ). Visited the history museum. And then flew back to Osaka in the evening. The city left a very good impression ( wide streets, very well organized, clean ). Definitely want to go back.
Ok just by chance I walked by that izakaya. I really wanna go in but im super intimidated because I am 外国人. 😢
Everything goes together, Ryotaro. They all go together 😂
I had some unagi in a local restaurant recently. But the cook wasn't very good. The unagi was soso and the rice was dry long grain rice. 😔 I hope to eat good unagi someday.
So if i say Risottoro sends me i get something free. Ok, Deal 🤣😜
ryotaro with the glass lift lmao
hello everything, as a muslim i always find my self asking if i go to japan what can i eat?
for starters we cant eat pork or drink alcohol. we cant eat meat(cow/chicken/ect.) that hasn't been butchered through Islamic ways. we would be left with fish and everything else.
does someone know what kind of food and restaurants are opened up to us?
thank you very much
I love the cheeky subtitles. 'Arigato gozaimasu' translated to 'cheers, mate' made me laugh so loud i startled my dog. I love this channel, Ryotaro is just the best and if I ever make it to Japan, there's no way I'm not visisting Sendai! Also, that unagi had me drooling.
I visited Sendai back in November. I wish this video had been made earlier, I love eel.
I love fried chicken skin. The crispier the better.
Hey, Ryotaro! I love your videos, but sometimes, the audio mixing on your videos can leave a bit to be desired. The music can occasionally make you a bit hard to hear — I would suggest lowering the volume of the music when you're speaking. Thank you! 😊
I’m visiting Sendai in October…definitely trying at least one of these places.
every video i save the place on my maps for my next visit <3 thank you ryotaro for the amazing recs! it makes the journey that more fun
I have to try these when I eventually get to Japan
Especially the beef
Wagyu without the affable peasant? I am now hungry and confused.
Why didn't you make this video three weeks ago!?!?!! I was just there.
Yknow the Eel guy Kitsunai looks a bit like Hideo Kojima
