I visited Daifukuji Temple (Cliff Kannon), located in Tateyama City, Chiba, which stands on a cliff! It is a very unusual temple with a temple standing on a cliff that seems to have been carved out of the ground.
The temple has fixed visiting hours (8:00 – 16:30), but I visited in the morning because the temple was open from 8:00 am. Dogs are not allowed in this temple, so they were left at home this time 🐶.
Since the temple stands on a cliff, we climbed the stairs to get to the Kannon-do. There are gentle and steep stairs, so you can take whichever one you like. This time, I took the gentle stairs on the way there and the steep stairs on the way back.
On the gentle stairs, there is a carp pond and a hole in the middle of the path. There seemed to be no carp in the pond. When you go up to the Kannon-do hall, you can see the whole Tateyama Bay! It was cloudy this time, but you can see a more beautiful view on a clear day. The Kannon Bosatsu (Goddess of Mercy) in the Kannon-do hall cannot be seen directly, but is worshipped by peering over the fence from below. The ceiling is decorated with seasonal flowers and birds!

There is a Omikuji next to the main hall below, so be sure to try it. There is a small charm in it! There are 7 types of omikuji so I will try to do it again when I go back!

千葉の館山市に位置する、崖の上に立っている大福寺（崖観音）に行ってきました！崖が削られているようなところにお寺が立っているとても珍しいお寺です。
拝観時間（8:00ｰ16:30）が決まっていますが、朝の８時から空いていたので朝に訪れました。このお寺は犬は禁止のため、今回は犬たちはお留守番しています🐶
崖の上に立っているため、階段を登って観音堂まで行きます。緩やか、急急な階段があるので好きな階段をのぼって下さい。今回は行きは緩やかな階段、帰りは急な階段を降りました。
緩やかな階段の方は、途中に鯉乃池や穴があります。池には鯉はいないように見えました。観音堂まで上がると館山湾が一望できます！！今回は曇りでしたが、晴れているとより綺麗な景色を見ることができます。観音堂の観音菩薩様は直接見ることができず、フェンス越しに下から覗き見て拝みます。天井には季節のお花や鳥などが描かれとても綺麗です！！
