Well finally I managed to film a Tupolev , and what a Tupolev ! This Tu204-300 is one of only eleven Tu204-300s that are currently in operation worldwide. Currently there are only forty Tupolev Tu-204(all types) aircraft in service worldwide with another thirty one on order and fifteen in storage. This is the only Tupolev Tu-204 that is in VIP configuration.

This aircraft is just over 19 years old (built in 1993)and is currently operated in full VIP configuration by Business Aero. They have operated it since 8th October 2009. Prior to that the Tupolev Design Bureau themselves had ownership of it for 13 years from 1996-2009. It was originally delivered on 6th October 1993 to Oryol Avia.
It then briefly changed operators to Aeroflot on 4th July 1995 before returning to Tupolev in 1996.

This flight originated in Moscow, Russia and landed in on runway 17 at Cork Airport, Ireland at 7:12pm local time(GMT) on September 20th 2012. It’s registration is RA-64010 and it also used this as its callsign for this flight with a squawk of 754. Weather conditions at the time were favourable with a temperature of 12 degrees celcius. The wind was from the South West (220 degrees) at 8 knots.

In the video you can also hear Air Traffic Control radio communications between the aircraft and the control tower.

Thankfully it arrived just as there was still enough light to film. Had it been 20 minutes later I wouldn’t have seen much. It is only the second Tu204 to ever land at Cork Airport.

This aircraft is powered by two Aviadvigatel PS90-A2 turbofans and has a range of 5000 nautical miles (9600 km).

This footage was filmed in Super Fine High Definition with a Samsung HMX-H200 camcorder. If you enjoyed this video please subscribe to my channel. Thank you. http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=radar050976

  1. What with all the space they must have in Ireland…you'd think they could manage a taxi way!

  2. Great Video and nice plane…you have been a great catch..I wish I lived by the airport instead of fourty miles away from Cork Airport

  3. Mr Simon Long, your video is very nice however I must correct the erroneous impression you left that there are only two Tupolev Tu-204-300(s) in the world – nothing could be further from the truth! Vladivostok Airline is very fond of this type and they currently operate six (6) of them. Russian government also has a couple (operated by Rossiya). North Korea also ordered and took delivery of one of these. Also in total, there have been over 70 TU-204/214s produced since 1989.

  4. Yes it's like a cross between a few different aircraft. Personally I think it looks like a cross between a 757 and an A320.
