I was in Hong Kong in 1982 as a young U.S. Marine on a ship. We had a week of liberty there. It was under British rule then. I visited Kowloon. Very awesome place and I plan to go back someday.

I'm a local. This is a great coverage of HK but don't forget to check out the incredible hikes!! MacLehose Trail from Saikung, hiking to the Tian Tan Buddha from the Lantau Trail, hiking the Twin Peaks into Stanley, Lion's Rock, etc. The list honestly goes on and on.
