I would consider 200+ pax to be quite a respectable load for a single aisle aircraft and especially on less dense long haul routes . Airbus has taken the lead on Boeing unless the latter can get the B737-10 certified as an XLR aircraft .
I wonder just how much impact cranking up the pressure has.
Assuming that it compromises the number of cycles the most, and that long haul significantly reduces the number of cycles in a day, could they even last longer in years than their short haul counterparts?
Based on the assumption that you may only get one return long haul flight in per day, possibly two, wheras a short haul equivalent could, easily double the number of cycles in a day, probably far more, if used on shorter routes.
