To answer your friend's question, I don't think ALL men from other countries are particularly found of Japanese women but some definitely are. I've talked to other guys about it and for us it boils down to:
1) Japanese women are typically fit
2) They place a lot of emphasis on being attractive
3) They place a lot of emphasis on ACTING IN AN ATTRACTIVE MANNER (like Kawaii, Japanese women really seek to embody attractive behaviors)
4) Their personalities are often perceived as friendly, positive, appreciative and sometimes innocent, outgoing, submissive or eager. All of these are typically attractive to a certain group of men tired of toxic progressive western feminism .
5) Japanese women are almost always feminine
6) They are perceived to either embody, understand or appreciate traditional value
7) They are thought to be diligent and/or hard working
So basically, they are perceived by many as attractive more for their values, attitude, culture and personality than appearance. Yes there are certainly some very attractive Japanese women but it's who they are that sets them apart. There are women from other areas in Asia, South America and Eastern Europe that are seen in a similar manner but with different traits. The real question that should be asked is, "Why are these men from other countries having to look elsewhere to find important qualities and feminine traits?"
