Maafushi Maldives Guide – Prices and Things to Do 2023

We visited Maafushi in the Maldives to see if we could do it on a budget.

Is the Maldives expensive? Where should you stay in the Maldives? Is Maafushi expensive? What is there to do in the Maldives? How to get to Maafushi?

These are some of the questions we answer for you.

This was filmed in April and the weather was HOT! It takes approximately 1 hour with a fast speedboat to get to Maafushi Island and costs $25 per person each way. We booked ours through Icom tours. The local ferry runs twice a day from Male to Maafushi and costs $1.40 per person. This takes around 90 minutes as it is slower but is more affordable.

We show you around the island of Maafushi and give you examples of menu’s and also a budget snorkelling trip that we did that takes in #Biyadhoo Island, the amazing coral garden and even turtle spotting for $35 each.
