Happy New Year! For this video I decided to compare two 5 star airlines in premium economy. EVA Airways (BR) and Cathay Pacific (CX) both offer 2-4-2 premium economy seats with 38 inches of pitch so lets see where they differ. For me, BR offers better catering and amenity kit, wifi and more consistent service. CX’s main advantage is better connections and more flights from NYC. Both offer friendly, professional, and accommodating service onboard and you can’t go wrong with either.

Awesome comparison. Tried CX premium economy but was a bit underwhelmed. I am looking forward to try the BR product soon. But anyway good to see the premium economy products are so consistent across carriers. Now let's hope US based airliners follow up and give us a similar product.
I am a vegetarian and I travelled on business class with CX once and they served me with a plain congee and a 6 small slices of shitake mushrooms. What a surprise! From there on, I switched to BR. Quite happy with BR service.
We flew Cathay Pacific, premium economy. Amsterdam-HongKong -Denpasar. The extra cost for Premium Economy is a waste of money! Service was poor, the food not nice! Seats were very comfortable, but leg space poorly, there was an obstacle in the middle so I couldn’t stretch my legs.

BR all the way! Since receiving service from some rude ground staffs in Hong Kong, never CX again!
EVA air is far better than Cathay. People need be warned Cathay Pacific will just tell lies. All to easy to make a big profit when you tell the customer one thing and then just go back on it some months later. They cost me 5 London Hong Kong returns. I even went to the head office and all the did was laugh. All in all a very bad experience they have had no interest in sorting any thing out as they have my money

Forget about the Eva and Cathay premium economy classes. The China Airlines premiun economy is by far better. Its seat is superior and fare much cheaper.
how much !!!?? also all airline should really start letting the economies go in first then the premium then the business/1st class. is just stupid do to the opposite first. now the line is held back cuss idiots in the fronts needs to find their seats then put their luggage on top. while everyone is just standing around is just not efficient at all!!!

been on both EVA is better to travel than Cathy. but both are good airlines.

its our 3rd time travelling to Asia via Eva Air Jan justthis year. Before, we use Korean Air and Asiana, and before the 2, its Cathay. We like Cathay better than Eva. Korean and Asiana are better too than Eva. We only chose Eva because its the cheapest among the 4 planes. The flight attendants in Eva are not friendly, and when I turn on the lights to ask for water, they looked grumpy. They don't even know how to say "excuse me" or sorry when they bump on my seat. 2x it happened, My toddler wakes up late, and when I asked for food, they don't have any food available anymore. Maybe bec they gave it to the other passengers 2x. Good thing I bought with me Doritos or else my toddler will cry of hunger.

Why would someone want to pay for Premium Economy and sit in the middle of 4 seats, they need to do a better job with the 4 seats make them 3 seats in Middle? The 2 on the side are fine, that is where I would only sit. Great video.
EVA Air all the way. I’ve had the opportunity to fly with both airlines from Toronto to Taiwan and short flights to Vietnam. While Cathay Pacific is exceptionally good, EVA Air stands out greatly for the performance of they’re entire crew from the cockpit updates the flight crew announces to the flight attendants constant smiles and kindness given to all the passengers. They all performed professionally and showed great passion in they’re work as if I were a guest invited in to they’re home. I also want to mention that boarding and deplaning was much smother with EVA and I liked that silverware is used instead of disposable plastics for meal time.

I am choosing between CX and BR for Premium Econ for a transpacific flight. I see that all CX seats have leg rests. Has BR upgraded their seats so that all seats (not just first row) have leg/calf rests? I think just the foot rest is not enough for a long haul flight. Thanks.
