Japan Trip! How to Ride the Bullet Train! + Rail Pass Experience

You can use a 7 day Japan Rail Pass by JR to ride the bullet train (shinkansen). Here’s my experience with it on a day trip from Tokyo to Hirosaki (via Shin Aomori). There is a transfer in between, which was smooth.
1. Get the pass online
2. Exchange in person at the office
3. Make sure you reserve your seats (for free) to avoid worrying about having to stand in the non reserved section.
4. Ride the train
