I walked from Yokohama station to the park at the end in the same day, but I visited Yokohama twice for this video. The beer factory and some footage in Yamate is from another day. Yokohama has lots of attractions, and it might be a little difficult to do everything in a day. I’d like to write below what I couldn’t show you in this video too.

Yokohama is city that you can arrive in 30 min. from Tokyo. Yokohama’s sight seeing spots are gathering by the port of Yokohama. It’s not a place to see authentic Japanese experience, but you’ll see the develpment of Japan in past 150 years.

  1. 👏🙏 Thank you for all the tips. Yokohama is on my list of places to visit during my Japan trip this year.

  2. Visited last month. The inside of yokohama station is very beautiful. I have been to the Nissan engine museum and it is really a good experience if you wanna drool over cars you cannot buy. But next to this museum (other building) there is the Hara model train museum which is a fun in between activity I can recommend to everybody of all ages. Difficult to purchase tickets but staff will help you.

Yokohama is a great area for strolling around and there is so much to see and do that 1 day is even too short. Especially the parks and tourist spots like osanbashi and the park next tot the gundam factory. The worldporters shopping mall with the bandai namco cross shop and aeon cinema is great. I even enjoyed the various yokohama city qr code's that where in various places which explained the history of that site.

I agree with the redbrickbuilding but there was a dog show when I was there which gave it a nice touch.

  3. thank you for this video! planning to visit yokohama from hakone in may. but i'm confused which train i should take from hakone yumoto to shin yokohama and the price 😢

  4. I'm so glad you made this video as I'll be planning a day trip there.
Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum, Nissin Cup Noodles Factory and the gundam statue.
I really can't wait to go there soon.

  5. As a Kidou Senshi Gundamu fan, you already know my friend, where my son and i went, during our visit to Yokohama last February. 🙃

  6. Right now on day 14 out of 17 on my trip. Tokyo->Fuji->Kyoto->Osaka->Hiroshima->Kanazawa->Tokyo
I’ve had day trips at Kyoto, Himeji, Nara.

I’ve been loving it very much. Tomorrow early I‘m exploring Kanazawa. Around evening it‘s time for me to take the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. Staying around Shinjuku area, which I haven’t explored much at all.

Tokyo is mind bogglingly huge. I could have spent my time only there, but I wouldn’t have seen 1/5th of everything 😆. I still have to buy souvenirs at Don Quijote. That alone will take a bit of time from my last full day in Tokyo😢
For my first visit I’ve feel that I’ve had a great overview and have so far experienced variety.

  7. Not visiting Yokohama is my great regret from the last trip 🙁
On the next one, I'm not going to miss it however I wish the Gundam Factory could extend the exhibition even more, because I should only be able to go at the end of next year

  8. Awesome video! Great information! Planning to visit Japan this coming November and one of my must-go-see is the Gundam Factory Yokohama and after that go eat at Chinatown. Is it possible again to ask how to get there again? I am coming from Tokyo Station and needing help to navigate to go visit the Gundam. Can you also do a video about the Gundam in Yokohama too? Thanks!
