I left Hamamatsu for northern Honshu Island. Michinoku Folk Village, located in Kitakami city, has some dwellings from the early Edo Period as well as some replicas of Jomon Period (prehistoric-300BC) pit dwellings. Archaeologists have discovered evidence of Jomon people living in the Kitakami area.
