“Yokohama Frühlings Fest 2023″ is being held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse from today, Friday, April 28 to Sunday, May 7.
This time we visited on the first day of the festival. Admission is free.
Opening hours are from 11:00 to 21:00, opening at 17:00 only on Friday, April 28.
We arrived at the venue a little after 18:00. Even though it was the first day of the event, it was packed with people even though it was a weekday.
The map of the venue looks like this. Let’s start from the big tent selling German beer.
The “Yokohama Fruehlingsfest,” now in its ninth year, is a recreation of the German festival Fruehlingsfest, which celebrates the arrival of spring.
A wide variety of authentic German beers will be on tap, including special beers such as “Ayinger Kellerbier,” “BREWHEART JENNY’S GOTTA HAZE YEAST,” and “schmatz Frühlingsbock,” which are only available at the event and are making their first appearance in Japan.
I was looking forward to the German orchestra playing in the hall, but today, on a weekday, it might have been just a toast.
Outside, authentic German sausages, hearty roast beef, and other meat dishes were available. There are also churros and other sweets available that are perfect for eating on the go.

It was windy and a bit chilly today. If you don’t like the cold, you may want to bring something to wrap yourself in.

There are separate German beer sales windows inside and outside the big tent.
Cashless payment is accepted in addition to cash.
