We got a special invite to visit a famous Jade workshop on Taiwan’s east coast near Hualien. By blind luck, we ran into Mr. Hui Wen Su who happened to be from a family with a long history in the Jade trade. His shop attracts Jade tour groups from Japan and investors from across Taiwan. Take a look, he’ll show you several simple techniques that you can use to determine if Jade is genuine or fake, as well as showing you had to detect other fake gemstones using decades old methods. If you are interested in arranging a visit to Mr. Su’s shop (pronounced SOO) you can reach him from within Taiwan dial 0921-975709, from USA 011-866-921-975709. Mr. Su has also given over 1,000 private tours of Taroko Gorge. So if you’ve seen my other video, and are interested in an extremely knowledgeable and personable guide who speaks English, he’s your man!
