【4K HDR】Shodoshima Togatazaki Kagawa Japan | Beautiful Scenery & Carp streamers with Uplifting Music

In Japan, in April, “Carp streamers” called “Koinobori” are erected in the yards and other places in the homes of families with children.
Togatazaki, located at the westernmost tip of Shodoshima, is home to the now closed Togata Elementary School, which displays beautiful carp streamers every year from April to May.

This Togatazaki carp streamer display began in 1990. Residents living in the Togata area began displaying these carp streamers to wish for the growth of their children who would be newly enrolled in Togata Elementary School.
However, Togata Elementary School was closed in 2005 due to the declining birthrate and aging population, which is a social problem in Japan. However, the residents of Togata have continued to display their carp streamers here in Togatazaki long after the elementary school was closed.

These carp streamers are collected through donations. For example, last year, several companies that operate ferries to Shodoshima solicited donations of carp streamers. In addition, a small donation box is provided where there is a ramp leading to the beach, and donations from tourists are used to operate the carp streamer display.

When I went to take this video of Togatazaki, only several Japanese tourists were visiting. I am thinking that perhaps non-Japanese tourists do not know about this place? I thought.
