The Candy Festival in Odate has been celebrated for over 400 years! Typically the scenery is painted in white from all of the snow, however, due to Global Warming, last year’s was not as picturesque, and was sadly plagued with cold rain. If you do plan on visiting Odate, Akita in February for this candy festival, you’ll probably find better luck with the snow. I highly recommend attending since it is a very sweet event!
