Nokonoshima is one of Fukuoka’s great hidden treasures – an island in the middle of Hakata Bay that offers camping, nature walks, and many varieties of flowers all year long. It’s only a 10 minute ferry ride from Kyushu and if the weather is good is a great way to spend an afternoon. The Nokonoshima Island Park offers a beautiful garden all year long, and the island has great hiking, swimming, and camping.
Some of the flowers you can see blooming there:
Spring – daffodils, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, poppies, rape blossoms, daisies, azaleas.
Summer – hydrangea, dahlias, crape myrtle, coral trees
Autumn – cosmos, dahlias, coral trees
Winter – Sasanqua, Japanese narcissus, camellia
