Exploring Minoo Park, a quasi-national park in Japan just half an hour from Osaka. Beautiful, natural Japan – a complete contrast to the city!
Minoo Park (Mino / Minoh Park) is a country park less than 30 minutes from Osaka by train. A perfect day trip and a place to spend a relaxing few hours walking in the countryside. There’s a fairly easy trail alongside a river, with shrines, temples, and cafes with Japanese street food and it ends at Mino Falls, a stunning 33m waterfall. The area’s famous for maple leaves, which are stunning in the autumn colours. I tried momiji tempura, a local speciality: fried maple leaves!
