manila should build up blocks dreamed up by the burnham plan and expropriate the land and build mixed use public housing similar to Barcelona and Berlin and Vienna. if the footprint of the current houses seen on this video is turned into a 15 story apartment building, the former occupants can easily live comfortably in the first 4 floors in exchange for tearing down their previous domicile, while at the same time, opening up the and selling the other 10 floors for occupancy. this is a win win situation where nobody loses and instead, gain more that what they had previously. a percentage of the amortization can in turn be used to fund more mixed use apartment buildings
