Visiting Miyajima – Japan Travel Tips

Miyajima & Itsukushima Shrine are one the three great views of Japan! (Nihon Sankei) and can be visited easily from Hiroshima Peace Park, Hiroshima Port, or quickly from Miyajimaguchi (for free using the JR Pass), BUT! Its important to go at Miyajima at the right time! There are 2 issues with Miyajima Travel, 1, the Tide changes radically for 2 unique views of the Shrine and Torii Gate, Low tide you can explore the Torii, High Tide you can see it floating. And 2, it’s best to see Miyajima EARLY in the morning, it gets VERY crowded after 10-11am. Happy Travels!
