Today we’re taking you along on our first day in Japan, going from Tokyo to Kyoto via Osaka🙌🇯🇵
Sakura cherry blossom season in Japan has been on our bucket list FOR YEARS and we finally got the chance to go now that we completed our 100-country goal😍🌸
We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university, and live life full-time🧔🏻👱🏻♂️ We’ve been together for eight years and have been traveling pretty much since day one✈️ We’re trying to see and learn as much about the world as possible before we settle down somewhere in the world👨👨👧👦 In 2022, we completed our goal of visiting 100 countries at the age of 25🌍 Check our YouTube About page for more details👨🏼🤝👨🏻

Thank you for watching!🙏😍
0:00-1:28 Our ROUGH journey to Japan…
1:29-3:05 Meeting up and flying to Osaka
3:06-7:40 Exploring Osaka for the day (Sakura in full bloom!!)
7:41-9:23 Train to Kyoto (important info!)
9:24-11:07 Traveling ON the beaten path is underrated sometimes…
11:08-12:49 Ending the day with Japanese curry (BIG LOVE)
We started our trip in the Keihanshin region, which is Japan’s second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo, made up of the cities Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and other smaller ones. After eight days around this region, we hopped on the Shinkansen bullet train twice, first to Hiroshima and then to Fukuoka. From there, we took a boat to Busan, South Korea (we were SO excited about this ferry ride between Japan and Korea!) before catching a train to Seoul and flying home from there!

WE'RE BACK😍🌸 Our first big trip since taking a break after visiting 100 countries and we're SO excited to share our amazing experience in Japan and South Korea, two countries we love!
Love this. I was there exactly 5 yrs ago. Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Sendai and Akita. So much fun !
Looking forward to your Japan videos! I'd love to visit Japan some day. 😊 I have a weekly work-related meeting (via Skype) with a colleague in Japan and he's by far the politest person I've ever been in contact with. It would certainly wonderful to get to visit this amazing country and its people at some point in the future.
Beautiful trees!
Would love to go to Japan
😀 i liked the takeaway about how sometimes taking the touristy well-traveled route can be more relaxing. i think there are lots of people who have the impression that it's somehow inferior to do the "tourist" things, and that you should always try and blaze your own trail. i mean, yeah, one of the coolest parts of traveling is trying new things and exposing yourself to the culture. but there's a limit to everything. sometimes you might wanna just chill. it's okay to just do what you wanna do – it's your vacation!
That is terrible you both got food poisoning traveling to Japan
Japan seems in a way cool. But after visited there twice I'm a tired of the retro future infrastructure, retro-future shopping, retro-future everything, non-functional internet etc. they offer. Nothing is on the same level as what we have in the 'west' – stagnant strange infra and non-functional internet. If I would like to see retro future, I would just start playing a game.
Japan is what we thought future would be in 1989-1990.
Thanks for the amazing video!
Would love to do the same trip to Japan, may be in a Tour guided by you two.
Thank so much for sharing. Such a nice country.
It`s so fun to travel in Japan 🥰
You find new things all the time and the people, oh – they are so friendly!
Dan… thank you for share this video. Just want to say….Kyoto is NOT a small city lol.
Friends! I can't wait to see your adventures around Japan. I'm so sorry you both got food poisoning on the way over. I hope Kyoto and the other cities you visit will make up for it!
We're going there in June!
Hi Oskar and Dan – thank you for all your fantastic videos! Being an AvGeek myself and having grown up watching planes at JFK, I started viewing Nonstop Dan a few years ago. Later I migrated over to Oskar & Dan – you guys have inspired our off-the-beaten track travels to New Zealand and Morocco. We’re still hoping to get to the Caucasus’s and Dubai one day soon. But here’s a non-travel related question: I applied for a faculty position at Minerva U. in global health policy, but don’t know anyone personally that’s ever gone there. I’d love to get your advice (perhaps offline) about the highlights/pitfalls of your experiences while attending Minerva. What qualities do you seek among professors teaching in that model? Any advice from you or friends/colleagues is welcomed! Thanks again for all of your beautiful travelogues and wishing you the very best in your pursuits!
I’m so lucky I got 2 in 1 seeing Oskar and Dan and seeing Japan😊
Hey guys – another epic video. I just can't get over your video quality. Do you have a 13 or 14 and just shoot 4k 60fps standard, or do you shoot in pro res ? Do you do anything to the footage to increase the quality in post ? Its soooooo crispy. Thanks
Wow I'm SOO jealous – I've always wanted to go to Japan and now I absolutely have to
Dan, are your glasses photochromic (do they adjust depending on the brightness of the light, from normal lenses to sunglasses)?
Hey Boys,it's Friday night in London & though I watched a rather miserable Dan this morning, I guessed I'd be seeing you both in Japan. So sweet to see how happy you both are to meet up again. Japan is seriously on my Bucket list & I have a few online friends there, plus have always been fascinated by the culture. So looking forward to the rest of your trip. Loving the new vibe; good to see you both looking well & happy. Very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏💙💙👌❤️💯⭐️'s⭐️👋✌️
Wish I had known you two were coming to Japan. I would've loved to show you around! Next time, maybe?
Goood video
Oh, you guy are here! 🫶 Canelita Sweets is definitely my favorite. The shop owner lady is very pleasant to talk with😍🍩
