RCI cruise ship Freedom of the Seas departed on a rainy late afternoon from Port Miami’s terminal A on April 10 2023. She needed to turn in the main turning basin before heading east out to the sea. On her way out, she unexpectedly turned right to the south and went back in to dock at terminal A. Emergency vehicles arrived before she touched the dock to respond to an apparent medical emergency. The stop was very brief, and in less than 15 minutes, Freedom of the Seas departed a second time and resumed her exiting departure from Port Miami. Copyright 2023 Subsurface Media.

What was the emergency
I think I saw EMS on the shore, most likely someone will miss their vacation with sickness/medical reason.
At least they were able to disembark the passenger before getting too far. Also would save them thousands of dollars if they didn’t have insurance
always get insurance whenever your on a cruise..
I had friends on a cruise last year where a similar medical emergency happened, also in Miami. They were disgusted to hear fellow passengers complaining about what turned out to be a 30 minute delay in returning to dock and disembarking the sick passenger. Apparently, they moaned, they had paid for this cruise and they hoped compensation would be forthcoming! The ship even made up the time and arrived slightly early at the first port but my friends were stuck with this moaning couple as their allocated dinner table companions for the cruise. How heartless can some people be?
Not to make light of the situation, but I want my medical condition to occur on the last day of a cruise.
Oasis of the seas had to come back to Florida yesterday (04/10) after a day at coco cay. They came back to FL to drop off the sick passenger and went back to their itinerary. Luckily after Coco cay they had a day at sea, so they went straight to their next port.
Why are these emergencies happening so often now?
Any ideas?
the same thing happened in January too
Emergency? What could possibly go wrong?
Is it true that on a weeklong cruise, and average of six people expire from natural causes?
While we were the Odyssey (3/19-3/25) there was a medical emergency and we heard (not substantiated) that the passenger passed and was taken off the ship by Bahamian officials.
A V injury? A lot of that going around?

I was on this cruise, no biggie. Never found out what happened 😢
I was on this cruise. Some older gentleman and a lady (his wife maybe) exited immediately but the gentleman climbed on to a stretcher as soon as he got off. He seemed fine and next thing I knew, we were haulin' out of there. I seen the whole thing from my balcony.
These super cruises with azipods are so agile in narrow waterways
What a gloomy day for a cruise to begin. Was this the week south Florida got hit with all that rain? 25inches+
