MOST TOURISTS DON’T GO TO THIS JAPANESE CITY (but they should)

Okayama is not at the top of most tourists bucket lists when coming to Japan. Even though it is a fairly large and centrally located city, I have never really heard anyone talk about it or suggest going there. But considering it was an easy stop on the Shinkansen line, I decided to give it a go for a few days and boy was I surprised! This city is definitely a gem of a find and where I would suggest going if you are looking for a much more ‘local’ big city experience.
