We traveled to the beautiful city of Kakunodate on an Impromptu trip to see the beautiful cherry blossom. The season came early in Japan in 2018 and we took a day trip from Tokyo to Kakunodate via Shinkansen to see the Cherry Blossom Festival in this beautiful small town known for its samurai tradition located in the Akita Prefecture
