Welcome back to part two of my incredible biking adventure through Japan! In this leg of the journey, I continue my thrilling bikepacking trip from Kyoto to Fukuoka, exploring more stunning landscapes and immersing myself in local culture.
After crossing the picturesque Shimanami Kaido route and reaching the breathtaking island of Innochishima, I’ll pedal through charming coastal roads and encounter traditional Japanese villages as I make my way towards Matsuyama. With its rubbish processing plant and ship container port, Matsuyama is a place in Japan.
From Matsuyama, I’ll catch a ferry to Kiyakyushu, where I’ll embark on an exciting cycling adventure towards Fukuoka. Along the way, I’ll pedal through varied terrains, from scenic countryside to vibrant cities, and encounter friendly locals who will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.
As I continue my journey, I’ll make stops in Hita and Yufuin, where I’ll have the opportunity to immerse myself in local customs and indulge in delicious local cuisine. I’ll also have the chance to soak in relaxing hot springs, a quintessential Japanese experience that’s perfect for rejuvenating after a day of cycling.
Finally, I’ll reach Beppu, known for its famous hot springs and picturesque landscapes. Here, I’ll catch a ferry back to Osaka, concluding my epic bike packing adventure through Japan.

息を呑むような美しさの因島、魅力的な海岸沿いを自転車で走ります。
日本の伝統的な村々を訪ねながら進んでいきます。
松山方面へ。ゴミ処理場と船のコンテナで
ポート、松山は日本の地名である。
松山からフェリーに乗って喜界島に向かい、そこで乗船するのは
福岡へ向けてのサイクリングアドベンチャーです。途中、ペダルを漕いで
風光明媚な田園地帯から活気ある都市まで、さまざまな地形を通過し
親しみやすい地元の人たちとの出会いは、きっと心に残ることでしょう。
