A walk in Seoul, South Korea that starts at Singeumho Station and heads to Wangsimni Station. This was the neighourhood where I lived during my first year in Seoul starting in 2007, I spent my last four years there in Gangnam. I swing by the apartment where I lived on the way.

  1. One of your best videos. So far on this trip. Nice to see the places you remembered from your time there and thanks for sharing them with us. Looks like a lovely place.

  2. Hello from Canada Johnny. It’s so cool to see Canadians living abroad in Seoul. How affordable is the cost of living in Seoul compared to Toronto as it currently stands?

  3. Quite calm neighborhood and big plus that the driving is on the right side in Korea, pretty interesting to hear you speak in Korean. oh and the Korean girls are gorgeous 🙂

  4. I had similar experiences. At the airport, a guy picked me up brought me to my workplace where my coteacher walked me to a love motel. My office tells wasn't ready. My first week was overwhelming. Bright lights, multicolor shops, not understanding Korean, no phone, bo internet, no money. I ate take out pizza a lot, but didn't know where to put cardboard boxes so I had 30 boxes under stairs of loft. Adjosshi yelled at me once for not sorting my recycle stuff .so that's why I had pizza boxes.things fell into place once I got my ARC card to open a bank account, get a mobile, meet foreigners in my area.

  5. How crazy deep underground was that subway platform! I lost track of how many escalators it took to get to ground level.

I wonder how bike-friendly that area is. The traffic looks intimidating.

  6. South Korean cities are places where people seem to be very few compared to their statistical population.

  7. Would agree about the size of the vehicles there. Many large Hyundai and Kia SUV's and minivans in evidence, surprising considering they're average size vehicles here in Canada. Have enjoyed seeing your trip to Seoul. Thanks so much for sharing the different scenery.

    Regards,

  8. Thanks for sharing! You voice is so interesting to listen to while you're reminiscing 🙂

  9. Really enjoyed this one. Feels very real. Just missing the love motel. Thanks for sharing your memories too.

  10. I took Japanese when I was in high school in Canada and can read hiragana and katakana signs when I go to Japan. I think I should learn hangul script so that next time I can go to Korea, I can read the signs.

  11. Hi Johnny, many thanks for showing us around your old neighbourhood, I enjoyed hearing your stories of your time living in Seoul. I could hear from your voice how excited you were about visiting the areas you used to frequent & the nostalgia that ties with them. This was very enjoyable to watch and thank you 😊👍

  12. Always wanted to go to Seoul but no one else wants to go. Wouldn’t want to travel there alone. Love seeing this

  13. So fascinating, seeing all the sights, the stores and brands I've never heard of, and your old residence in Seoul. Very cool! I have also wondered, are there no unhoused people there? I've yet to see any – has Asia dealt with this issue, do you know?

  14. Thans for showing around your first hood in Seoul. It's a pleasant area especially around your ex apartment. Area looked well kept and clean.
