OK, I may be a bit biased, but the skylines and gtrs are so boring. They are just the Japanese mustangs. They look ugly and honestly are the most overrated car.

R33 for it’s performance history and specifically for the R33 LM. They aren’t a Japanese mustang, that would have been Celica. You know before it was made FWD. Not really a Skyline fan but i do respect it’s history.

I’ll give you a better one: Why do kids praise the Supra?

  3. Ugly for you. Each person has a different perception of things. R34 for me is ultimate goal

The r32 was a icon it won 29 races straight and got banned in Australia racing after 2 years, it’s a homologation car had to be built so Nissan could go racing.
Just like lancia deltas and urQuattros,I’ve got a r32 gtr I wanted one because of what it was and what it was made for.

They are simple and understated and elegant. They’re not screaming “look at me look at me”.

If you could get exotic performance and rarity for the equivalent of $60k USD brand new back in the 90’s, would you? One reason they’re coveted by so many people is they were released in 2 markets only.

  7. CrackDaddy01

Spoken like someone that doesn’t have a Skyline. I’m sympathetic towards your lack of Skylines.

Honestly – the Supra, Skylines – good but overrated. In particular the reason people in the US are obsessed with the skylines is because we couldn’t originally get them. Don’t get me wrong, good cars, but I kinda wish more people would appreciate the forgotten and oddball JDM cars. I’ll be here, waiting for the downvotes….

Because stututuutu and 2f2f. End of, stop acting like you don’t know, let people enjoy things without having to give you a mathematically and physiologically correct reason for it.

Some cars just have that rockstar quality about them that can’t be explained.

Cause shit like Gran Turismo, NFS underground, and fast and furious were all peaking in the early 2000s, when a lot of us were like 10-15.

  11. Hour_Lengthiness

not japanese mustangs, zs are japanese mustangs, because the GTRs are very quick, but uncommon and unnattainable.

Because when they were made you could build 1800-2500hp off 2.5-3.0l for a 30-40k car… in their day they ruined supercars for a fraction of the money. They’re an underdog that became an absolute legend.

And even today taking aside the now ridiculous purchase prices you can still build power faster and cheaper than any modern car. Putting a turbo on my 26det cost me about 20k for a racing set up. Shit I wouldn’t get change out of 40k for a road set up on my vq37 road car and it wouldn’t even get close to the 600whp my drift car is putting down without major engine work and a gearbox that isn’t made of glass so you may as well say closer to 60k.

The 90s era is when performance engines were at their best for simplicity and aftermarket modification. After fuel injection but before computer controlled everything and nazi level emissions nonsense.

The skyline GTR is mostly known for its racing history for winning several races consecutively. It was winning so much that they tried to handicap by adding weight but it still won. And hence it got the name Godzilla.

The reason it’s considered a very good car is because of it’s drivetrain. Back in the 80s and 90s, AWD was a huge deal in racing because it drastically improved handling of the car. It allowed it to come out of the corners much quick and gave good amount of traction.

The engine was also very good. The RB26DETT had potential to be tuned to very high numbers.

We want things we can’t have. As an American

  15. OkDay2871

R32 won every race it entered so fast it got banned (deserve the praise)
R33 fast in Nurburgring (i don’t know how to spell that fkn track name)
R34 fast in furious (don’t deserve the praise)

    That’s why

  16. fnassauer

Idk but for me the r32 is one of the best looking cars out there. And I’m not a kid…

  17. retsujust

I am aspiring to work in car design, and for me, the r34 is an absolute design icon. It’s shapes are absolutely beautiful, and the rb26 is also a timeless classic, for its tuning options aswell as delivering absolute power straight for the factory. The r32 was basically so good in racing for a street car, it completely changed the approach car manufactures had. At the time, racing was something for Ferrari, not Nissan. But then a Nissan comes up and defeats everything? That’s just legendary.
