Welcome to Japan! This Asian island nation is home to the largest and most populous city in the world, Tokyo–famous for its lively culture, bustling atmosphere, and vibrant food scene. Everyone travels to Tokyo, but very few travelers venture to the prefectures, or states, just outside the city. Which is a mistake–they’re AMAZING.

Lying off the beaten path, within a two-and-a-half-hour car ride from the heart of Tokyo, are charming towns, gorgeous natural wonders, riveting sites, and serene retreats that every traveler should take a few extra days to experience.
In this documentary, I’m taking you into the beautiful Yamanashi, Shizuoka, and Kanagawa Prefectures. From the stunning Fuji Five Lakes region in the shadow of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi, to the relaxing onsen spa resorts of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, to the volcanic Owakundani Valley in Kanagawa, we’re exploring it all! Plus, we’re diving into everything from Samurai hot pot to midnight ramen along the way.
So come with me and let’s explore the Yamanashi, Shizuoka, and Kanagawa Prefectures just outside of Tokyo, Japan. Let’s go!

  3. Good day David…I'm viewing now…The fastest train…wild rides…you're brave ..I couldn't…and I like that you always thinking about getting gifts for your daughters and family. Have seen very little of your Japan videos …so this is very interesting for me. Always wanted to know about Japan….As always Thanks and safe travels.,,,Blessings..

  4. Konnichiwa and kanpai David. Another very good video. This one was a tad hectic because the lady had you moving around from place to place so fast. One thing: too much sea food and raw food. I will stick to cooked foods. It's a beautiful place though and good for quiet time and meditation. Our cherry blossom trees here in Toronto, flower in spring and they are very beautiful to see when they now bloom. Ladies, you should buy the Japanese cherry blossom body spray, if you can find it. It's really nice. One of my personal ones since I don't like perfume. What I loved was that it's so clean and had such fascinating history. Sidebar, though, too bad you couldn't demonstrate how the bath worked, what with all those specific instructions 🤔😱😆🤭🤗 Just kidding. Anyway, I enjoyed it. So domo arigato David. Have a pleasant Sunday. Be well, be safe and many blessings to you and your family.🙏💕🇹🇹🇨🇦
