Japan Van Life Ch 24 – (van)life’s a beach!
Today we’re setting off from Toyama for the ultimate Japan van life adventure – driving down a beach!
Chirihama Beach (also known as Chirihama Nagisa Driveway) on the Japan Sea coast in Ishikawa Prefecture is a solid 8km stretch of beach where driving fanatics can come to rev their motors and drive by the sea. It’s also the only place you can drive on the beach in Japan, so it’s a pretty unique attraction! But that’s not all (oh no, no!). Between May and November, you will also find impressive sand sculptures by the beach and in the surrounding Hakui City.
Oh, and if that’s not enough to win you over, it’s not far to the world’s longest bench and the Hatago wedded rocks – the perfect place to watch the sun set on the Japan Sea side of Japan!

Have you ever watched UK TV series called the Scrapheap challenge and Scrappy races? The bodgers there modify used vehicles for sand racing and ocean crossing. I would like to see a video of your van being transformed into a boat or flying car too
I really couldn't decide if 4:14 was a jellyfish, or an exposed land mine from WWII. The sunset at wedded rocks was the prettiest thing I've seen on YouTube. They way you two have turned a simple hand shake into a romantic gesture 8:56 touched my heart.

The beaches in Japan are quite nice. Funny how they are not well known overseas. What is the thing connecting the two rocks on the beach, a rope or cable bridge?
I think I’d prefer driving myself on the beach but it’s cool to know they have bus tours! 😆

Wow that sunset was just stunning with the sun peaking over the rocks and rope <3 You can drive on most beaches here in NZ but most people do it just to bring their boats down to the water. Most people ride motorbikes or quad bikes but we're trying to get it banned cuz they're destroying the habitat of endangered sea birds =(

能登半島の西側最先端の岬には、「狼煙」為る土地が在ります!其処には、日本海に向けて、安全な航行を、祈りながらも、日々、灯りを灯す「狼煙灯台」が、在りますが、其処は、朝〜晩迄居ると、実感出来る事が、🇯🇵で、唯１ヶ所の、場所でも在り、富士山の上に居ても、経験出来ない事を、経験出来ますよ!! 其れは、【日の出〜日没迄を、其の場所で観る事が、可能な、特別な、場所（地点）なのですよ!】今は、冬で寒い〜、容易では有りませんが、車の中で、暖まりながらだと、差ほど、辛くは無いかもね!! 然し、風が強い岬なので、軽いモノは、車から出さない様にね!!
千里浜海岸は、私の故郷です。高校の校内マラソン大会は、この砂浜を走りました。
私が若い頃は、砂浜はもっともっと広かったのですが、侵食されて狭くなっています。
妙成寺は、重文が沢山あって、見所満載なんだけどナア・・・・残念！

おはようございます。能登半島にも夫婦岩があるんですね、富山、石川も行きました。輪島方面、東尋坊へ行ったかな、世界一長いﾍﾞﾝﾁは知らなかったな〜砂浜ﾄﾞﾗｲﾌﾞも最高😃⤴️⤴️ですね！
三重県伊勢市二見町にも、有名な夫婦岩が有ります！(笑)🤭
