The longest river in Japan is so called “Shinano-gawa.”

Shinano-gawa is a first-class river that flows through Niigata and Nagano prefectures, and is the main stream of the Shinano-gawa river system. It flows into the Sea of Japan in Niigata City. It is called Chikuma-gawa in Nagano Prefecture. The length of the river is 367km for the entire river system, making it the longest river in Japan.
