Located about 30 minutes away from Shibuya is Kawasaki, where there exists a Korean settlement that was once called “Doburoku Yokocho.”
During the post-war food shortage era around 1948, Doburoku Yokocho was born, and it is said that there were about 40 shops at that time. These shops produced and served an illegal alcohol called “doburoku” to customers.
Now, more than 70 years later, almost none of the shops are in operation, and Doburoku Yokocho gives off a dark, dystopian atmosphere.
